There are currently 3 different types of Tuition Assistance options offered to families attending Saint Hilary School and each one has its own process. Please read the descriptions below carefully:
The BASIC Fund
The BASIC Fund is a privately funded program whose mission is to broaden the educational opportunities for students by helping low-income families afford the cost of tuition at private schools in the Bay Area.
The program is available to students entering Kindergarten through Eighth Grade to attend private schools in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma Counties. The program provides scholarships to help families send their children to the private school of their choice. The BASIC Fund scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need.
BASIC Fund is available for new students attending private school for the first time only. Siblings already attending the school and not receiving the BASIC Fund can be included as long as one student in the family is attending private school for the first time.

Archdiocesan Family Grants
The Archdiocese of San Francisco estimates for the 2012-2013 school year that they will be able to award just slightly less than $1,000,000.00 in tuition assistance to our families in the Archdiocese on an as-needed-basis. They will split the amount between high school awardees and elementary awardees. Last year, they awarded aid to families up to $48,000.00 in income, and the average family income was $35,000.00.
For elementary students, April 15th is the deadline for submitting all information to the third party need evaluation company (TADS) that is used to collect the financial data from families.
Late applications will NOT be considered. The Archdiocese expects to announce the awards to elementary student's families at the end of May.
