Registration:
Calling all basketball players!
Registration opens for 3rd - 8th grade boys and girls.
Registration will be open tonight by 8pm Friday, September 14 - Friday, October 5.

All players must be registered to tryout.
Tryouts will be held at St. Hilary Gym as follows:
GIRLS - October 9 and October 10 (Tuesday and Wednesday)
3:30-4:30 4th grade
4:30-5:30 5th grade
5:30-6:30 6th grade
6:30-7:30 7th grade
7:30-8:30 8th grade
BOYS - October 16 and October 17 (Tuesday and Wednesday)
3:30-4:30 4th grade
4:30-5:30 5th grade
5:30-6:30 6th grade
6:30-7:30 7th grade
7:30-8:30 8th grade
Player must attend one tryout to be evaluated.
- Registration is for 3rd to 8th Grades Boys & Girls.
- Cost is $250 for 4th to 8th Grades and $175 for 3rd Grade.
- If registration occurs after October 5, the player will be placed on a "wait list." Team placement is not guaranteed.
- Refund policy: Players cannot tryout unless paid, registration is not considered complete unless payment is made.
- If you withdraw before tryouts, you will receive a full refund. If you withdraw after tryouts but before the 1st practice, there will be a $100 cancellation fee. If you withdraw after the 1st practice, there is no refund.
- The CYO board reserves the right to make any changes or amendments at any time.

Practices for Saint Hilary
CYO Basketball will begin mid-November. Players in Grades 4 through 8 will practice a minimum of twice a week.
Practices will be after school in various gyms throughout Southern Marin.
All games are on Saturday or Sunday with exact dates, times, and locations to be determined at end the of December. There is a bye weekend for all teams President's Day weekend. There are games on MLK weekend and the weekend at the end of ski week.
Game schedules will be posted around 1-2 weeks before the season begins
and a link will be present on the player's private dashboard. |

Evaluations:
- Evaluations are for 4th to 8th Grades to organize the players into "A" and "B" level teams.
- Evaluations are done by independent, non-St. Hilary basketball specialists.
- Anyone who does not participate in evaluations will be placed on a B team.
- A player may not play up a grade.
- Teams will be announced by November 3rd.
- The CYO board reserves the right to make any changes or amendments at any time.

Games and Uniforms:
- Games begin January 4th & 5th and end mid-March.
- Uniforms for all teams Grades 3-8 can be purchased and picked up directly from T&B Sports in San Rafael.
- Player numbers are to be coordinated by each coach.
- Please make sure to indicate the correct size on the registration form so that a uniform can be pre-ordered for you. |

Grade 1, 2, and 3 Basketball
The Grade 3 level Saint Hilary basketball serves as a fun introduction to CYO competition. The coaches work with all players to teach fundamental skills of dribbling, passing, rebounding and shooting. They also emphasize teamwork and good sportsmanship. Teams have only one practice per week and one scheduled game per week against another third-grade CYO team from Marin.
To reinforce the introductory nature at this level, no scores are registered during the games. Game referees temper their officiating to recognize the beginning level of the players.

Coaches
Head Coaches need to be fingerprinted by CYO or at a LiveScan location (Tiburon Police station). In addition, Head Coaches will need to complete online "Shield the Vulnerable" course (about 45 minutes). Assistant coaches will need to complete a
background check form and "Shield the Vulnerable" online course. Coaches who have been fingerprinted by SF Archdiocese, in
previous seasons, do not need to repeat the process.
