SHS Cross Country
Time to start training for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics! Join the cross country club and learn the basics of running with an overview of techniques and proper running form. Practices will provide basic fundamentals while students build to increase their running distances.
Grades: 3rd-8th | $150
Mondays and Wednesdays 3:15-4:30 pm
Location: Meet in front of the Jr. High garden
Practices: 8/28, 8/30, 9/6, 9/11, 9/13, 9/18, 9/20, 9/25, 9/27, 10/2, 10/4, 10/11,10/16, 10/18, 10/23, 10/25 (some practices subject to cancellation pending dates of the cross country meets)
- Mondays- will walk down to the bike path and run the path to Blackie's Pasture or South Knoll Playground area.
- Wednesdays- will run up to the “Hippie Tree” (located just above the school) and run trails on Tiburon Ridge.
Meets: Dates for the 3rd-5th grade Cross Country Meets, as well as the 6th-8th grade Cross Country Meets, will be available in early September.
- Meet distances are typical 1-1.25miles (3rd-5th grade) and 1.25-1.5 miles (6th-8th grade)

CROSS COUNTRY REGISTRATION
Homework Help with Ms. Delzeith for Grades 1st-4th
Ms. Delzeith will be providing after school homework help and extra review of school work starting the week of September 5th and running until December 15th. Students will arrive with their homework for the week and receive support to complete any homework or projects they have for the week. If there is a test coming up, the students will have time to review practice problems and receive extra help with any concepts they may still be working on. If there is no homework, Ms. Delzeith will review concepts already taught through games and extra practice depending on the needs of the students.
Light snacks will be provided (i.e. popcorn, pretzels, etc.) though students are welcome to bring other snacks with them.

Jr. Alchemists by Electivity
Conjure a snake using only sugar and baking soda, pass secret messages in invisible ink, and cause a volcanic eruption to rival Pompeii! Students will perform all these experiments and more, while learning the scientific principles behind them.

JR. ALCHEMISTS REGISTRATION
SHS Golf Club
It’s never too early to get your child onto the greens. Get them started with 9 Holes or Lessons (includes putting, chipping and driving range with the McInnis golf pros). Students will learn the basics of the game as well as etiquette on the course. Mr. Finn and a parent volunteer will walk with the kids when they play 9 holes. Chess by Electivity
Get hooked on Chess - a game that promotes logical thinking, problem solving, and foresight! In this class, we emphasize sportsmanship over competitive elements to get our kids excited about chess. Kids learn strategies, openings, solve chess diagrams and puzzles. Class will consist of instruction time followed by playing time with each other and with the instructor. We emphasize a cooperative environment, and learning positive social skills.

Ukelele by Electivity
The ukulele is a fun and accessible instrument to introduce the fundamentals of singing, performing and the basics of music theory. This class will include learning chords, simple songs, and movement to inspire young children to express themselves musically. Practice is essential for improvement and requires some parental support to prepare for each week's lesson.

Let’s hear it for Tiger Spirit! Join Mrs. Choi for cheerleading where your future SF 49er cheerleader will learn basic jumps, cheers, and dance for the talent show and pep rally. Mrs.Choi has been teaching cheer at St. Hilary for the last 5 years and was a cheerleader in Middle School and High School and studied dance for six years.

The cuteness of Poekie animals has motivated thousands of children to master various hand-sewing techniques, while building confidence and pride in their accomplishments. Starting with easy, beginner animals, you too can learn to sew your way up to more advanced animals, embellished with beautiful glass beads. This class is a great introduction into the world of Poekie-making. Wonder what a Poekie is? They're not just any stuffed animals, they will inspire you to create your own world!
