Admissions Process

New Student First Consideration Application Deadline: 1/29/27

We are now accepting applications for the 2027-2028 school year! After the first consideration deadline, applications will be considered on a rolling admissions basis where space allows.

Kindergarten/TK Admissions

  • Kindergarten applicants must be 5 years old on September 1st of the academic year they are applying for.
  • Children will be considered as a Transitional Kindergartener (TK) if their 5th birthday occurs between September 2nd and December 2nd of that academic year and they demonstrate a social and academic readiness for our Kindergarten/TK program.

  • Online Application with $150 Fee
  • Birth Certificate copy and Photo uploaded
  • Teacher Recommendation Form mailed or emailed to admissions@sainthilaryschool.org
  • Student Kindergarten Assessment:
    • Kindergarten/TK applicants will participate in group play and other activities that will allow the children to be observed and evaluated in a playful and informal setting. Our seasoned Kindergarten/TK staff will be evaluating five areas of Kindergarten/TK Readiness: Fine Motor/Gross Motor Skills, Academic Skills (Early Math & Early Literacy Skills), Social/Emotional Skills, Communication/Self-Help Skills, and Cognitive Development. Additionally children are expected to be able to follow directions and transition well.
    • While students are participating in the assessment, parents will have an opportunity to meet with our Principal, Dr. Marie Bordeleau.
  • A Personal Reference letter from a current or former SHS community member is helpful and strongly encouraged, but not required.
  • Baptismal Certificate copy uploaded (from all Christian faiths, if applicable)

  • Student Assessment/Shadow Day Appointment:
    • Once we have received your completed online application and fee, we will contact you to schedule an assessment/shadow day for your student.
    • On the scheduled day, students will shadow the class in their current grade for the morning, including recess.
    • After the morning shadow visit, the Admissions Team will administer STAR Reading and Math Assessments as well as a writing sample that is to be submitted.
  • A Personal Reference letter submitted: a letter from a current or former SHS community member is most helpful if possible, but another personal reference will also be considered.
  • Baptismal Certificate copy uploaded (from all Christian faiths, if applicable)

  • Deadline to Apply for TADS Tuition Assistance: Early February 
  • New Student Notifications Mailed: Mid-March

Rolling applications will be considered if space allows after the first consideration notifications have gone out.
