Electives Fall 2026

After-School Electives at Saint Hilary School are an important part of our whole-child offering. We provide a range of classes for students of all grades including favorites such as cheer, golf, cross country running, Legos, dance, and much more. 

If an elective is sold out, please email Karol Towns at operations@sainthilaryschool.org to be put on a waitlist.

ELECTIVITY SHS ELECTIVES



In addition to electives provided by Electivity, the following electives are offered by Saint Hilary School teachers.  Registration links to come in August.


Movement/Mindfulness with Ms. Mahachek

This elective is designed to grow each child’s confidence in a joyful, engaging and positive manner! Students will learn foundational exercises that will set them up for success in creating a healthy lifestyle for the future. They will be given a caring environment to practice thinking and sharing about topics like gratitude, goal-setting, and what type of friend they would like to become! 

Movement, Mindfulness and Confidence Building | Gr TK/K - 3rd | $270 | Mondays 3:15-4:15 PM

Classes: 9/21, 9/28, 10/5, 10/26, 11/2, 11/9, 11/16, 11/30

Location:  Music Room

Bio: Ms. Sophia Machahek is one of the Kindergarten teachers here at Saint Hilary School. She is a certified Personal Trainer, Fitness Instructor and has had several years of fabulous experience teaching Gratitude at Gold Arrow Camp.

MOVEMENT, MINDFULNESS REGISTRATION

Homework Help for Grades K-5th

Students will arrive with their homework for the week and receive support to complete any homework or projects they have for that week. If there is a test coming up, the students will have time to review practice problems and receive extra help with any concepts they may still be working on. When students have completed all of their work, they will be dismissed to extended care.

Grades K-5 | $55 per session

Mondays: 3:15 - 4:15 pm | 9/21 - 12/14 (date exclusions:  10/12, 11/23)

Location: Library

Students are welcome to "drop-in" but they must sign up by noon that day to reserve their spot. 

Cancellations must be made on SignUpGenius before noon that day in order to not be charged.

Monday HW Club Registration

SHS Golf Club with Mr. Finn

It’s never too early to get your child onto the greens. Get them started with 9 Holes or Lessons (includes putting, chipping and driving range with the McInnis golf pros). Students will learn the basics of the game as well as etiquette on the course. Mr. Finn and a parent volunteer will walk with the kids when they play 9 holes. We will need parent volunteers to walk with the students. The pros at McInnis will be in charge of lessons. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Finn: Kfinn@sainthilaryschool.org

GOLF CLUB REGISTRATION

SHS Cross Country with Mr. Finn

Get your student out on the beautiful trails and paths of Tiburon. We typically have a great mix of students from 3rd - 8th grade. Meets are separated by 3rd-5th Grade Meets and 6th-8th Grade Meets. We are still working out dates for the meets. All meets are held after school during the week.

We want EVERYONE to have FUN!!! We will cover proper techniques of running, as well as the basic understanding of the “Ins & Outs” of a cross country meet. Practices are not mandatory, but we encourage everyone to attend as many days as possible.

Grades 3rd - 8th | $150

Tuesdays and Thursdays | 3:15 - 4:30pm

Location: Meet in front of the Jr. High garden

Practices: 9/1, 9/3, 9/8, 9/10, 9/15, 9/17, 9/22, 9/24, 9/19, 10/1, 10/6, 10/8, 10/13, 10/15, 10/27, 10/29 

Some practices subject to cancellation pending dates of the cross country meets.

  • Tuesdays- will walk down to the bike path and run the path to Blackie's Pasture or South Knoll Playground area.
  • Thursdays - will run up to the “Hippie Tree” (located just above the school) and run trails on Tiburon Ridge.

Meets: Dates for the 3rd-5th grade Cross Country Meets, as well as the 6th-8th grade Cross Country Meets, will be available in early September.

  • Meet distances are typical 1-1.25miles (3rd-5th grade) and 1.25-1.5 miles (6th-8th grade)

CROSS COUNTRY REGISTRATION

Fashion Design with Ms. Blitzer

Do you have a young designer bursting with creativity? In this exciting Fashion Design elective, students will learn how to bring their ideas to life—from the very first spark of inspiration to imaginative, one-of-a-kind creations. This class is designed to build confidence, nurture artistic expression, and introduce real fashion-industry skills in a fun, age-friendly way. Students will explore the full fashion design process, beginning with Mood boards, fabric swatches, color theory, creative brainstorming and thinking outside the box. Students will learn to use Canva on their iPads to create digital mood boards, develop color palettes, and explore early design conception—just like professional designers.

Grades 2-8 | $516 | Thursdays 3:15 - 4:15 PM

Location: Art Room

Bio: We are thrilled to offer this class with Ms. Blitzer, who spent over a decade in New York City as a Senior Fashion Designer. She brings real-world experience, a passion for creativity, and a heart for teaching. Her portfolio, including exclusive sundress designs for Taylor Swift’s line at Walmart, can be viewed at erikablitzer.com. Ms. Blitzer cannot wait to inspire the next generation of designers and makers here at Saint Hilary’s!

FASHION REGISTRATION

Dance with Ms. Mahachek

Welcome to dance class for all levels! Students will learn and hone in on foundational dance skills, learn new group-routines and enjoy building a positive team culture.  All levels are welcome!

DANCE REGISTRATION

SHS Cheer with Mrs. Choi

Raise those pom poms and show your school spirit with a cheer of “Go Tigers”! Join Mrs. Choi for cheerleading where your future SF 49er cheerleader will learn basic jumps, cheers, and dance for the talent show and pep rally. Your student can proudly wear their SHS Cheer jackets on Fridays when they are attending Cheer. 

Grades K-4th | $240 | Fridays: 3:15 - 4:00 pm 

Classes: 9/25, 10/9, 10/16, 10/30, 11/3, 11/13, 11/20, 12/4

Location: 3rd Grade Classroom

Bio: Mrs. Choi is our 3rd grade teacher and has been teaching cheer at Saint Hilary School for over a decade! She was a cheerleader in middle school and high school and studied dance for six years.
